That night Kalvyn dreamt about his brother, Garyn. The dream was pleasant but when he awoke, the truth about his brother hit him. This would be Garyn’s last full day at the farm. And usually immediately after the marriage ceremony newly wedded couple would depart, usually to another town or village, to begin their own lives together. Many times the two would forget about their father and mother and never contact them by visit or even by message.
A knot suddenly tightened in Kalvyn’s stomach at this new realization. Their relationship and life together as brother and brother could be torn slowly

“Kalvyn, wake up!” a voice yelled in front of his face.
Kalvyn groaned. He opened his eyes slowly trying to adjust to the light flowing into the barn. It was still broad daylight, Kalvyn could tell, by the bright light glowing through one of the many holes in the roof. That meant only one thing: He had to finish his work.
As soon as his vision was able to focus properly he could see Maria bending over him, trying to wake her brother up. Her long blonde hair dropped onto Kalvyn’s face which felt extremely awkward.
“Daddy says he needs your help in the fields.
Chapter 1 of DisasterChapter 1 Kalvyn, a boy no older than 15 years, lurked through the forest; around trees and through gullies, tracking. He gripped a simple short oak bow in his hands, one hand-carved by himself for hunting occasions such as this. To complete the proper equipment needed to hunt, a quiver of arrows was strapped around his back. The quiver contained two different types of arrows; basic iron arrows for long-range shooting and a pair of wooden arrows dipped in a deadly poison. For this hunt, the boy would use the iron arrows but, if ever he encountered a creature highly resistant to physical blows, Kalvyn would use the poison-dipped arChapter 1 of Disaster
